Free eBooks for all Clinical, Community and Hospice Staff in Bedfordshire

Do you find it difficult to access your medical library service at Luton or Bedford? You have free access via Athens (sign up here) to the Bedfordshire Core eBook Collection, a selection of high-quality reference eBooks provided by the COMET Library at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital

With popular point-of-care titles such as Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine, reference textbooks such as the Encyclopedia of Elder Care and the Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology along with full copies of the Royal Marsden Manual and the Handbook of Palliative Care the collection will quickly become your key reference resource.

 

Accessing your eBooks.

Luton and Dunstable Hospital Staff, GPs and CCG staff.

If you are a Luton and Dunstable staff member, a GP Trainee or GP you can access the eBooks directly via your ‘Discovery Service’. You can access the eBooks at the top of the page via the link marked ‘EBSCO eBooks’ or search the text of all the available eBooks by searching the discovery service and filtering by ‘EBSCO eBooks’ on the left-hand side.

 

Other Staff in Bedfordshire

If you are community or hospice staff in Bedfordshire you can access your eBook library directly at http://search.ebscohost.com. If you click on the ‘OpenAthens Login’ and then enter your Athens Password you will log into the EBSCO packages available to you. Select  ‘eBook Collection’ to access your eBooks.

 

Public Health and Bedford Hospital Staff

Due to licensing restrictions, Public Health and Bedford hospital staff do not at the moment have access to the eBook collection (this will hopefully change in the future) Bedford Hospital Staff have access to ClinicalKey, with a comprehensive collection of high-quality eBooks. Access ClinicalKey, or search the Bedford Discovery Service for access. Contact Bevan Library for further information.
